Sobriety, I Did It My Way

Sobriety, I Did It My Way

Alcohol is something that can be enjoyed as a means to relax and unwind after a hard day at work, to celebrate a special occasion or simply when socializing with friends.

There’s nothing wrong with having a drink but when an occasional celebratory tipple become a habit, which then becomes a necessity, that’s when problems can arise.

Mo Khan knows this better than most. His addiction to alcohol very nearly cost him his life. It threatened to lead him on a path that would take every good thing he had ever achieved and throw it away, like it was inconsequential.

In his motivational book, Sobriety, I Did it My Way, Mo details his struggle with alcohol and how he fought back from the brink, with the help and support of family and friends, to free himself from the stranglehold that alcohol had taken on him.
But this isn’t just a book about how one man managed to succeed. It provides the reader with a clear path to their own sobriety, as well as helpful tips on where to get the support you need.

The Saints Lost Their Way

With their mother, father, and uncles already nursing wounds from previous rebellions, Mattie and his brother, Tadgh, are no strangers to Irish struggle against the British crown. Only when the brothers are torn from their own home do they realize just how bloody complicated the Wars of the Three Kingdoms truly are.

With England, Ireland, and Scotland about to be locked into a decade of conflict, dying in battle is somehow still the least of Mattie’s worries. Whether it’s enslavement in the tropics, the navigating of an unforgiving sea, or horrific tribal conflict in faraway lands, Mattie will not only learn the global reach of the war from his homeland but also get a chance to discover liberty—and love—in the unlikeliest of places.

From devastated Irish farms to a vast Barbados plantation and beyond, this sprawling epic takes readers through the riotous depths of seventeenth-century Irish history, revealing the often brutal but sometimes inspiring truths that no history textbook ever could.

Battles will be lost. Loyalties will be tested. Love will be challenged. In the desperate fight to determine who will rule Ireland, Mattie’s final fate may take him further from home than he ever could have imagined.

The Healing of the Heart Sufi Musings During Covid19 A Return to God

Covid19 came to decimate our lives and forced us to reboot and re-prioritize our lives. Born into a spiritual family, I decided to return to my roots and search deep within my soul for the questions I have had for many years.I pondered, I mused and then one night, when the fear was consuming me, I returned to God, the Almighty. Lying helpless, feeling the despair, I introspected. I opened up the third eye within my soul and searched for God. I looked back at my life. And I wrote on pieces of paper. It seemed the words and emotions were welling from bosom, as if they had been trapped for decades. Now, I share them with you. My inspiration is my family and my guide are the Sufis who show is that the way to the Divine is through the heart. I present to you, the musings from my heart. Anila Aliwww.anilaali.com

Young, Broke and Educated

Young, Broke and Educated

Alexander Baima graduated college with $80,000 in student debt at the age of 23 from one of the top 25 business schools in America. After college he went to work as a financial planner and serviced fortune 500 clients. He created the financial plans that brokers took credit for, and while they grossed millions a year, he made minimum wage.

At 29, his parents had a house with an $80,000 mortgage and a child - and they lived on one income. At 29, Alexander still had over $50,000 in student debt. How could previous generations have so much more than most millennials who still struggle with little hope for the future?

Young, Broke and Educated investigates the decline of purchasing power among young people, especially over the last generation. It explores in basic, easy to understand terms, how economic systems have evolved to hinder the financial success of millennials and the incentives that government, big business and banks have to prevent progressive change.

Alexander Baima, a master in the field of eCommerce and early adopter of blockchain technology, walks you through, step-by-step, what the issues are and what needs to change to ensure that millennials and future generations have access to the same type of success that previous generations took for granted.

Changing Uncertainty Through Hope

Changing Uncertainty Through Hope:

How Positive Psychology Supports

Marginalized Communities

Altering the perception of marginalized communities through positive youth development. Implementing change strategies to alter oppositional behaviors amongst youth who are unattached.

The purpose of this research was to assess the impact of positive youth development (PYD) initiatives regarding at-risk youth who have limited advancement opportunities due to structural marginalization in Jamaica. The background of marginalization in psychological and historical context sets the stage as to why PYD is necessary in altering negative behaviors. In this case study, the researcher examined social factors that impact PYD for vulnerable youth in the Jamaican culture. The hybrid nongovernmental organization (NGO) utilized in this study provided an understanding which links theory to a real world practical contextual view. The theory introduced in this study is John Berry’s cultural ecological framework as a foundation in broad terms to a more specific framework utilized within the Caribbean, an African-centered approach. Using a qualitative exploratory approach, the researcher determined several social factors that influence PYD in Jamaica.
